Accounting Operations Specialist
Job Description:
The Accounting Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting the Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and general accounting functions. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely transaction processing, and maintaining strong internal controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Prepare and process miscellaneous customer billing
- Process customer deposits accurately and timely
- Apply incoming payments to customer accounts
- Assist with resolving billing discrepancies and customer inquiries as needed
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Code and process credit card transactions in accordance with company policy
- Enter vendor invoices accurately and timely
- Prepare checks for payment, including printing and mailing
- Assist with maintaining vendor records and resolving invoice discrepancies
General Accounting
- Assist with preparation of journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
- Assist in the preparation of account reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Assist with month-end close processes
- Support internal and external audit requests as needed
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2-4 years of accounting experience preferred, especially AP or AR related
- Experience with ERP or accounting software strongly preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Solid understanding of accounting principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
