Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead technician for all mission-critical mechanical services and maintenance under contract.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with contractual commitments related to mechanical systems.
- Provide guidance, leadership, and technical knowledge regarding the installation, service, maintenance, and operation of data center HVAC equipment.
- Independently perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, routine, and emergency repairs on a wide range of HVAC equipment, including air and water-cooled chillers, centrifugal and screw package chillers, natural gas boilers, unit heaters, electric duct heaters, cooling towers, and various air distribution systems.
- Work with pneumatic, DDC, and variable frequency drive controls, as well as building automation software.
- Maintain, upgrade, and back up building automation systems as required.
- Supervise and mentor lower-level technicians, supporting their technical development.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to after-hours assignments as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a basic air conditioning theory class.
- Minimum of 7 years of large commercial HVAC service experience required; 8 years preferred.
- Proficiency in the use of HVAC diagnostic tools and instruments.
- Experience with DDC, pneumatic, and variable frequency drive controls.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or related software.
- Ability to pass any required client background checks or training.
- EPA Universal Certification, VA Journeyman HVAC license, and OSHA Certification are considered a plus.
- Valid drivers license required.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as required by the role.
Offered compensation: $35/yr - $40/yr
