Stamping Press Operator-2nd Shift

Position Overview:   

This position supports department objectives by running a stamping press and working alongside press associates in accomplishing their daily tasks to ensure maximum productivity and job safety.

Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

• Assist Manufacturing Lead with press efficiency and productivity.
• Assist with preparation for start of work to ensure presses are ready
• Post all work orders at the end of working day for following day
• Ensure safety standards are maintained in the press area.
• Notify Manufacturing Lead of any unsafe conditions or associates not performing work safely or productively
• Ensure dies are set up to meet production demand.
• Perform die setups on daily basis
• Maintain dies to ensure quick die setup changeovers
• Ensure press area is maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
• Maintain an organized environment in the press area throughout the day
• Ensure daily clean-up of press area
• Ensure scrap bins are emptied as needed
• Ensure bulk storage area is clean and organized at all times
• Assist Lead with press room inventory.
• Conduct press room inventory monthly, quarterly, and yearly (as needed)
• Maintain an accurate physical count on inventory of all products at all times
• Maintain Company quality standards in all press room activities.
• Observe quality of all production leaving the press area
• Notify Lead of quality issues and assist with correction of production quality as necessary

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Expertise: 

• Two years of manufacturing experience using machinery, tools, and equipment. 
• Working knowledge of metal stamping operations to include experience with automatic feed punch press lines, tooling, progressive dies, and quick die changes in presses up to 250 tons (preferred) 
• Familiarity with data entry computer skills (preferred)
• This position requires forklift certification.
