What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stamping Press Operator-2nd Shift position at RELIANCE WORLDWIDE?
Position Overview:
This position supports department objectives by running a stamping press and working alongside press associates in accomplishing their daily tasks to ensure maximum productivity and job safety.
Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
Assist Manufacturing Lead with press efficiency and productivity.
Assist with preparation for start of work to ensure presses are ready
Post all work orders at the end of working day for following day
Ensure safety standards are maintained in the press area.
Notify Manufacturing Lead of any unsafe conditions or associates not performing work safely or productively
Ensure dies are set up to meet production demand.
Perform die setups on daily basis
Maintain dies to ensure quick die setup changeovers
Ensure press area is maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
Maintain an organized environment in the press area throughout the day
Ensure daily clean-up of press area
Ensure scrap bins are emptied as needed
Ensure bulk storage area is clean and organized at all times
Assist Lead with press room inventory.
Conduct press room inventory monthly, quarterly, and yearly (as needed)
Maintain an accurate physical count on inventory of all products at all times
Maintain Company quality standards in all press room activities.
Observe quality of all production leaving the press area
Notify Lead of quality issues and assist with correction of production quality as necessary
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Expertise:
Two years of manufacturing experience using machinery, tools, and equipment.
Working knowledge of metal stamping operations to include experience with automatic feed punch press lines, tooling, progressive dies, and quick die changes in presses up to 250 tons (preferred)
Familiarity with data entry computer skills (preferred)
This position requires forklift certification.
