Cable Installation Technician
Reliance Telephone of Grand Forks, Inc. is looking for a dependable, motivated Cable Installation Technician to join our team.
We provide inmate communications services to more than 175 county correctional facilities across eight states: Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Since 1983, Reliance has been developing innovative communication and technology solutions for correctional facilities, including our own software applications and wireless communication systems.
The Position
As a Cable Installation Technician, you will travel to county jails and correctional facilities throughout our service area to install, configure, and test network and Wi-Fi systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Installing Ethernet/data cabling and network equipment.
- Building out and installing Wi-Fi systems throughout correctional facilities.
- Starting up, configuring, and testing network systems.
- Testing cable connections and Wi-Fi signal strength throughout each facility.
- Troubleshooting installation and connectivity issues.
- Training correctional facility staff on the software and systems we deploy.
- Maintaining a professional and organized work environment while working in secure correctional facilities.
Reliance provides all tools, equipment, and company vehicles, and covers travel and other job-related expenses.
Schedule & Pay
- Full-time
- $25.00 per hour
- Typical 40-hour work week
- Four-day work week
- Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off
- Travel throughout IA, MN, MO, MT, ND, NE, SD, and WI
Qualifications & Personal Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 1 year of data/network cable installation experience
- Clean driving record
- Clean criminal record
- Honest and dependable
- Responsible and organized
- Self-motivated
- Hard-working
- Comfortable traveling and working in correctional facilities
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
