Mechanical Design Engineer New Hudson, Michigan Direct Hire | Onsite $40–$55 per hour Competitive Benefits PackageJob Summary:We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and build of complex automation systems. This role works closely with internal leadership, program managers, and project engineers to develop mechanical solutions that meet customer specifications and project requirements.Key Responsibilities:Design automated solutions using established standards, including conveyors, pallets, nest fixtures, regrip stands, SPC drawers, laser marking stations, and manual operator stations.Design robotic end-of-arm tooling for material-handling applications.Develop 7th-axis robotic gantry systems (elevated or floor-mounted).Create assembly concepts with part feeders and automated press stations.Produce system layouts, assembly drawings, and detailed drawings based on project requirements.Develop automated sequences of events and technical scopes of supply.Collaborate with suppliers on sub-assembly processes.Work closely with internal project leads to ensure all customer specifications are met.Perform additional duties as assigned.Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.5–10 years of experience in mechanical design for automated systems.5–10 years of experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or other 3D CAD platforms (e.g., NX).Strong computer and mathematical skills.Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and prioritize effectively.Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.Knowledge of GD&T and part print reading.Ability to read, write, and speak English; German language skills preferred.Work Environment & Physical Requirements:Office-based environment requiring extended periods of sitting.Classification & Compensation:Full-time, permanent position.Compensation based on experience, skill level, and background.Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) StatementReliance One, Inc. provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation, and training.
