What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Fleet Engineer to support enterprise-wide automation initiatives focused on internal logistics processes and materials movement within complex manufacturing environments.
In This Role, You Will
- Assist local teams in implementing a variety of robotics technologies.
- Develop standardized process documentation and procedures.
- Own, maintain, and integrate autonomous vehicle products into existing IT infrastructure.
- Establish communication between commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) robotics and internal systems.
- Provide Level 1 support and assist IT teams in diagnosing robotic deployment issues at the networking and infrastructure layers.
- Participate in Solution Architecture Design (SAD) meetings, assisting in planning and configuring hardware, software, networking, communication protocols, and other prerequisites for integrating manufacturing robotics with line-side systems, data center assets, and cloud platforms.
- Commission and integrate autonomous vehicle systems across North American manufacturing facilities.
- Coordinate with enterprise networking and WINTEL/server administration teams to identify root causes and deploy countermeasures.
- Provide support for Windows Server 2022, Ubuntu 24/25.x, and RHEL 10.x.
- Manage Tier 3 escalations related to robotics and industrial automation, including PLCs, industrial robotics, and communication protocols.
What You Bring (Must Haves)
- 5 years of experience with networking and OS/Linux.
- Hands-on experience with Linux, Docker, and Bash.
- Strong understanding of OSI layers, TCP/IP protocols, and interoperability troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with Windows Server 2022, Ubuntu 24/25.x, and RHEL 10.x.
- Experience with virtual infrastructure tools such as VMware vSphere.
- Background in the automation industry as an engineer, technologist, or project manager is a strong asset.
- Experience with at least two platforms:
- PLCs (Allen Bradley, Toyopuc, Omron)
- HMI Programming (FactoryTalk, ScreenWorks)
- Autonomous Vehicle Technologies (MiR, AutoGuide, Omron, JBT, Creform, OTTO)
- Experience with Toyopuc.
- Knowledge of automotive or broader manufacturing processes.
