Role Description The Welding Inspector role at Reliance NDT LLC is a contract, on-site position based in North Platte, NE. The Welding Inspector will perform visual and NDT inspections of welds on pile caps and pile splices to verify compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting and documenting inspections, performing NDT activities (MT and UT), reviewing welding procedures and welder qualifications, and reporting findings in a clear, accurate format. The role involves collaborating with project teams and clients to address nonconformities, recommend corrective actions, and help maintain high standards of quality and safety. The Welding Inspector may also assist with audits, support training efforts, and contribute to continuous improvement of inspection processes.
Qualifications
- Strong welding inspection capabilities, including Welding Inspection and practical Welding experience.
- Proficiency in Quality Control and Quality Assurance practices within construction and industrial environments.
- Hands-on experience performing Inspection activities on structural, pipeline, or piping systems.
- CWI (Certified Welding Inspector)
- NDT Level II UT and MT.
- Knowledge of applicable welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, API) and ability to interpret technical drawings and procedures.
- Strong documentation skills, attention to detail, and ability to produce clear inspection reports.
- Must have a Valid Drivers License and provide transportation for yourself and equipment. (Compensation Added)
- Ability to work safely on active job sites, including climbing, lifting, working on the ground, and working in varying field conditions.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with clients, contractors, and internal staff.
