Experienced Diesel Technician — Truck Dealership
Position Summary
We’re seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to diagnose, service, and repair customer trucks at our dealership. The ideal candidate delivers accurate, high-quality work, communicates clearly with service advisors and customers, and follows manufacturer procedures and dealership standards.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, aftertreatment systems, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical systems, and other truck components.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, warranty repairs, and customer-pay work.
- Use diagnostic software, service manuals, and specialized tools to identify issues and complete repairs.
- Document findings, repair procedures, labor, and parts accurately on repair orders.
- Communicate repair needs and progress to service advisors and flag additional safety concerns.
- Follow manufacturer specifications, dealership processes, and workplace safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and properly care for shop tools and equipment.
- Support team productivity while maintaining high repair-quality and customer-service standards.
Qualifications
- Professional experience servicing and repairing diesel trucks.
- Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, and emissions-related systems.
- Familiarity with diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and technical service information.
- Ability to complete repair orders accurately and manage work efficiently.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and customer-service skills.
- Valid driver’s license; commercial license or manufacturer certifications may be preferred or required, depending on dealership needs.
