Job Summary
POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for the administration and implementation of policies which ensure a safe and healthy work culture and environment.

Sedentary Work- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Job Function
Responsible for administration of environmental, health and safety policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations.
Responsible for maintaining an accurate OSHA 300 log.
Responsible for fleet safety administration, with support from Feralloy and Reliance Fleet teams.
Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
Responsible for administration, review and any necessary updates of Job Safety Analyses (JSA’s).
Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, driver safety, and other relevant topics.
Maintains (and develops, as necessary) database of safety training records for all teammates.
Responsible for conducting incident investigations including root cause analysis and reporting them to RS Corporate Safety Team and workman’s compensation.
Develop, gather, and monitor leading indicators (such as near misses, hazard identification reports, first-aid events).
Coordinates with operations and engineering teams on safety-related improvement efforts/projects.
Leads safety committee(s) & develops notes/action items.
Conducts daily audits in various departments to ensure proper housekeeping, and all safety guidelines are being followed.
Assists HR Team with new hire orientation training.
Supports the overall vision, mission and values of GHMS on a daily basis.
Perform other duties as assigned by the VP of Operations and Corporate Safety leadership.
Required Skills
Must have valid work authorization to work in the U.S. - visa sponsorship not provided
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety & Health, or a related field. A combination of relevant experience in safety or EHS leadership may be considered. OSHA 30-hour certification.
Minimum of 5-7 years of previous safety leadership experience. Combination of experience, education and internships may be considered.
Must have comprehensive knowledge of HR policies, OSHA regulations, National and State Environmental regulations.
Must have above average knowledge and capability in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. Experience in recommending, implementing and/or use of EHS software systems.
Must be team-oriented, disciplined, organized and passionate about building a culture of safety in a manufacturing environment.
