As the Fleet Maintenance Manager, you are reliable and able to work extended hours to meet the needs of the business, our fleet operations. You will have experience using Automated Fleet Management software, and if you’ve implemented one in the past, we want to talk to you. You are a resourceful problem-solver requiring little direction. You know that to get the job done, you need to hustle and be a great team player. You enjoy working with all people in the company, and also have a driver mentality to help our fleet operations run efficiently, safely, and effectively.
Qualifications:
8 or more years of experience as a mechanic or a related field, AND Experience using Automated Fleet Management software.
Experience in jetter and septic truck systems is strongly preferred
High School Diploma/GED preferred
Able to pass a background check and drug test
Current Oregon Driver License
Class A CDL or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Understanding of DOT rules & regulations
Hydraulic experience is preferred
Experience with fleet management, maintenance planning and performing required maintenance on a schedule
Diagnosing issues & troubleshooting
Tank/vacuum truck mechanics experience
Welding basics: Able to weld aluminum with spool gun preferred
Cummins, Volvo, Cat experience is a plus
Willing to receive training for pump systems on service trucks
What You’ll Do:
The Fleet Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the ongoing management of the Automated Fleet Management Software. This position is also responsible for repairs, inspections, and maintenance of the company fleet as needed. Responsibilities include diagnosing automotive problems, determining their best solutions, project management, routine maintenance scheduling and management, making any necessary repairs to ensure the fleet is running well, and supervising our mechanic team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Serve as administrative manager for the Automated Fleet Management software
Audits and assesses utilization needs of all company fleet and plans maintenance schedule; and adjust shifts as needed to ensure fleet is available as needed
Perform repair work on vehicles such as breakdowns, malfunctions, and emergency roadside repair in a safe, efficient, and quality manner
Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturers specifications including engines, transmissions and clutches, suspension and steering, fuel, and ignition (gas and diesel), electrical systems, brakes, and HVAC systems
Perform final operational test on all vehicles to quality-check all repairs
Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to maximize the safety, productivity, and life of the unit
Perform DOT inspections
Perform maintenance and repair welding on equipment. Fabricate parts as required including any design work needed. Inspect for cracks or damage to assess needed repair

Work is conducted at the Speedy Septic Shop and outdoor work environment in year-round weather conditions
