Material Handler.
JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a skilled material handler to work in a fast-paced environment. Material handler duties include loading and unloading trucks, supplying each area with materials, and moving product throughout the facility.
Receiving/Put-Away:
Prepare for incoming PO's.
Planning where product will be staged and put into locations.
Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations. Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas. Keeping the mainline cleared.
Quality:
Checking product for accurate counts for inventory.
Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances to Lead or supervisor.
Order Picking:
Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped. Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
Loading:
Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers.
Ensure all BOL paperwork matches out going shipments.
Ensure proper BOl paperwork has Barcode/seal/signature.
Equipment:
Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a sit-down, propane, tapered and polished forklift or other power equipment. Use radio frequency equipment; scan guns for picking, receiving, put away, and load functions, as required. Maintain the facility's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
Inventory:
Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained. Assist in physical inventories. Ensure proper stock rotation.
Safety, Sanitation, Security:
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA Standards.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Able to skillfully drive forklift /picker.
Good depth perception and eye sight are very important.
Ability to make decisions and complete tasks in a fast paced environment.
Ability to function well with a team.
Ability to work with a scan gun
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Be certified through the company.
High school diploma or GED required.
Basic computer skills necessary.
A minimum of 1-2 years of recent forklift driving experience required.
Previous experience in a corrugated manufacturing environment preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Good depth perception and eyesight are very important.
