CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

We are seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer with proven leadership experience in the propane industry to help lead the next phase of our growth. Role overview

The COO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, partnering closely with the CEO and other senior leaders to translate strategy into operational execution.

The COO will help Reliable Energy:

· Build a world class safety culture.

· Build a high-performing, accountable operating organization.

· Develop strong branch and regional leaders.

· Improve productivity, utilization, and operational efficiencies.

· Build scalable processes while preserving the local relationships that make propane businesses successful.

Operational Excellence

Own the operating performance of the organization and establish a culture of execution.

You will be responsible for driving improvements in:

· Delivery productivity and route efficiency

· Service response and technician productivity

· Fleet utilization and maintenance

· Cylinder and bulk operations

· Inventory and asset management

· Customer service and retention

· Operating expense management

· Operational KPIs and accountability

You will ensure that our operations are productive, safe, disciplined, and profitable.

Safety

Safety is not a department; it is a leadership responsibility of everyone. The COO will establish and reinforce a culture where safety is at the forefront of every decision and action made for all leadership and field employees at all locations.

Leadership Development

One of the most important responsibilities of this role will be identifying, developing, coaching, and retaining the people who will lead Reliable Energy into its next phase.

The COO will:

· Build a strong operational leadership bench.

· Establish clear expectations and accountability.

· Coach branch and regional leaders.

· Identify high-potential talent.

· Develop succession plans.

· Create consistency in leadership practices across locations.

· Hold leaders accountable while giving them the autonomy to lead.

Growth & Acquisitions

Reliable Energy is a growth company. The COO will play a critical role in evaluating and executing growth opportunities, including organic growth initiatives, acquisitions, and market expansion.

This includes partnering with the executive team to:

· Oversee and support organic growth efforts.

· Identify opportunities for revenue growth and productivity improvement.

· Build the infrastructure necessary to support continued expansion.

· Evaluate operational opportunities and risks.

· Develop integration plans.

· Successfully integrate acquired employees, customers, assets, and processes.

· Establish operating standards while respecting the strengths of acquired businesses.

The ideal candidate understands that successful integration is about people first, processes second and systems third.

Collaboration

This is a collaborative role working closely with the CEO, CFO, Safety, HR, Sales & Marketing, Operations, finance, and other leaders. We are looking for a leader who can challenge ideas without creating friction, make decisions without creating silos, and bring people together around common goals.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for an experienced propane executive who has earned credibility in the industry. Senior propane leadership experience is REQUIRED.

You have:

· A high level of energy and excellent work ethic.

· Significant senior leadership experience within the propane or energy distribution industry.

· A strong understanding of propane operations and the realities of running a field-based business.

· Experience leading multiple locations, branches, or a geographically dispersed operation.

· A demonstrated record of improving productivity and operational performance.

· Experience developing leaders and building high-performing teams.

· Strong financial and business acumen.

· Experience with acquisitions, integrations, or significant organizational growth.

· A strong commitment to safety and compliance.

· The ability to translate strategy into measurable execution.

· The ability to build relationships with employees at every level of an organization.
