About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Service Estimator to join our growing team. As a Service Estimator, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely estimates for time and material projects and planned maintenance. You will work closely with our sales team and our customers to ensure that all estimates are comprehensive and meet the needs of our customers. Your attention to detail and ability to organize and prioritize tasks will be essential to your success in this role. You will play a critical role in developing positive vendor relationships while managing parts orders.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong customer service background, who understands the importance of accurate communication and the quoting process. The ideal candidate will be familiar with purchase orders, vendor relationships, and have a basic understanding of equipment manuals to assist with parts ordering and service repairs. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a team are essential.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in construction estimating
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other estimating software
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of building material supply principles and practices related to commercial construction
Responsibilities:
- Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers for pricing. Review project specifications and prepare cost estimates for time and materials and/or planned maintenance programs.
- Interpret and analyze customer inquiries which may vary broadly in nature, e.g. quotations, terms, deliveries, applications, service, complaints, adjustments, requests for literature, catalogs, price lists, instructions, etc.
- Offer suggestions regarding vendor options. Secure best pricing for project components with appropriate vendors.
- Manage data in ERP system to ensure accuracy. Maintain all customer information, pricing, and customer contracts as applicable.
- Manage all parts inquiries, including questions, concerns, and searches. Process parts orders, requests for available parts in warehouses or places to drop ship orders from vendors.
Skills:
As a Service Estimator, you will use your skills to prepare accurate and timely estimates for service projects. Your organization skills will be essential to maintain detailed records of estimates and project specifications. You will use your attention to detail to ensure that all estimates are comprehensive and meet the needs of our customers. Your customer service excellence will be critical to communicate effectively with team members and customers. Finally, your ability to continuously improve estimating processes and procedures will be essential to increase efficiency and accuracy in this role.
