JOB SUMMARY:
The Process Engineer provides engineering support for process engineering and commissioning projects at industrial facilities such as processing plants, gas compression facilities, mining facilities and other related types of projects. This position focuses on developing new industrial processes, engineering, testing, and troubleshooting during the engineering, start-up and commissioning phase of a plant. The Process Engineer carries out tasks outlined in the project’s completion procedure as defined in the Scope of Work. Executes completion activities at project sites and verifies that documentation is completed.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Process Engineer provides engineering support for process engineering and commissioning projects at industrial facilities such as processing plants, gas compression facilities, mining facilities and other related types of projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpreting design of new and existing processing plants and equipment.
- Modifying and optimize existing facilities.
- Verify and record key commissioning testing.
- Troubleshoot and correct engineering deficiencies on site, relating to electrical, controls, and instrumentation.
- Performs troubleshooting and testing of circuit and/or design problems.
- Develop and execute work packages, ensuring that the required procedures, check-sheets, and other items of information are assembled properly.
- Reviews completed work packages for accuracy.
- Addresses engineering issues during commissioning.
- Hands on support for commissioning/start-up activities.
- Red-lines and updates master drawing sets in the field as required.
- Generates Field Change Notices.
- Provides engineering support for troubleshooting and testing.
- Provides daily progress updates to Commissioning Manager or Project Manager.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety.
- Technical know-how in process, or: electrical, mechanical and instrumentation as it relates to industrial processes & plants.
- Organizational and prioritization skills.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Demonstrated logical problem solving and analytical skills.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills in spreadsheets, word processing, and database software.
- Understanding of PLC ladder logic, digital and sequential logic programming methods, and process related closed-loop control systems (is beneficial but not required).
- Knowledge of low voltage power distribution, instrumentation and controls engineering (is beneficial but not required).
- Knowledge of automation (PLC / DCS) and electrical system design, diagnosis and operation (is beneficial but not required).
- Read and understands electrical schematics and drawings (is beneficial but not required).
- Knowledge of engineering principles, practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (is beneficial but not required).
- Knowledge of API codes as applied to electrical installations (is beneficial but not required).
- Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
- Comfortable expressing an independent opinion, resilient to change and recognizes impact of their decision on others.
- Will follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job under general supervision.
- Working on-site in heavy industrial environments mostly but not limited to mining and gas industries. These environments may have the following conditions: Extreme temperature conditions, both hot and cold; in and/or around moisture; on slippery and/or uneven surfaces, in confined spaces; and at heights.
- Hours of operation and employee schedules vary based off each project and may require irregular or extended hour and travel for project completion.
- Travel, including both domestic and international.
- Will require frequent standing, occasional bending, squatting, climbing, twisting, balancing and reaching.
- Will have exposure to noise, vibrations, well-treating chemicals, glycol, methanol, gasoline, natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons.
- Will follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job under general supervision.
- Will often work alone with minimum supervision.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Metallurgical, Industrial Engineering or similar engineering field.
- 0 to 3 years of experience in process engineering.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record.
- This position requires frequent travel, estimated at 50% to 80%, including both domestic and international assignments.
- Candidates must have the flexibility to travel on short notice and for extended durations, including weekends as needed to meet project deadlines.
- A valid driver’s license is required for travel to job sites
- Candidates must also possess, or be eligible to obtain, a passport and any required travel visas to support global operations.
