Position Summary
The Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, attracting, screening, and hiring qualified candidates for all positions, including field personnel, skilled trades, supervisors, project managers, estimators, and corporate support staff. This role partners closely with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, develop recruitment strategies, and build a strong pipeline of talent to support the company's growth and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for construction and corporate positions.
- Partner with department managers to understand workforce requirements.
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, employee referrals, trade schools, apprenticeship programs, career fairs, and industry networks.
- Screen resumes and conduct phone, virtual, and in-person interviews.
- Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
- Maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future hiring needs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vocational schools, colleges, workforce development agencies, and industry organizations.
- Create and post job advertisements on relevant recruiting platforms.
- Conduct reference checks, background screenings, and employment verification.
- Prepare and extend employment offers while negotiating compensation within company guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Track and report recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and candidate pipeline activity.
- Support onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
- Represent the company at hiring events, trade shows, and community outreach programs.
- Maintain accurate candidate records
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of recruiting experience, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of recruitment practices and talent acquisition strategies.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish (written and verbal)
- Experience sourcing skilled trades and construction professionals.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple open positions simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
Working Conditions
- Office-based with occasional travel to construction sites, job fairs, schools, and recruiting events.
- Ability to work flexible hours when necessary to support hiring initiatives and hiring events.
- Some local and regional travel may be required.
