We are seeking an experienced Collections Specialist to support and strengthen our collections operations. This role is ideal for a results-oriented professional with a strong background in auto finance or receivables collections who brings both hands-on execution and strategic insight.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving recoveries, improving collection processes, and upholding compliance standards while maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and support daily collections activities, including direct outbound calls to merchants to secure payments, negotiate arrangements, and resolve account issues.
- Review delinquent accounts, assess risk, and implement targeted collection strategies to maximize recovery outcomes.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of collections workflows, policies, and best practices to improve efficiency and results.
- Maintain accurate documentation and account notes in collections systems and CRM platforms.
- Ensure all collection efforts comply with FDCPA, TCPA, and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Monitor performance metrics and prepare clear reporting to support management decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve disputes and support overall portfolio performance.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on collections experience, preferably in used auto finance, auto loan recovery, or business receivables.
- Strong experience conducting outbound collections calls and negotiating payment solutions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to remain professional in challenging situations.
- Proficiency with collections software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Detail-oriented and analytical, with the ability to evaluate account data and prioritize effectively.
- Working knowledge of debt collection laws and regulatory requirements.
- Spanish-speaking candidates strongly preferred.
