Relevant Partners is an LA-based real estate developer known for branded hotel and restaurant projects like TAO LA, Motherwolf, Thompson Hotel, Tommie Hotel, and Dream Hotel in Hollywood. Our cutting-edge design, seamless operations, and bold branding set us apart. Our newest landmark project, COVA Coachella Valley, is an 86-acre luxury villa community just one block from the world-famous Coachella Music Festival. This development features 165 luxury pool villas, wellness facilities, sports courts, a beach club, and a 10-acre pool—one of the largest in North America.

Introduction of Role

We are seeking a highly capable Controller to take ownership of financial oversight across our active projects and corporate entities. This role is critical to ensuring disciplined budget management, accurate cash flow forecasting, and strong coordination with our external accounting and fund administration partners, including OHI.

This is a hands-on role suited for someone who thrives in both operational and analytical finance — building and maintaining financial models, managing project-level budgets and cost controls, and serving as the central point of coordination between development, operations, and accounting.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

·     Own financial oversight across all active projects and corporate entities. Manage project-level budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models.

·     Coordinate closely with OHI on budgets, cash flow reporting, and monthly financials.

·     Track construction costs, commitments, and variances for projects under construction. Implement and maintain cost controls, approval workflows, and variance reporting.

·     Support development and operations teams with real-time financial insights.

·     Oversee investor-related financial reporting in coordination with internal teams and external partners.

·     Improve financial processes, reporting cadence, and internal controls as the portfolio scales.

·     Assist with capital stack tracking, funding schedules, and draw management as needed.

·     Collaborate with external CPA firm(s) to support tax preparation, audits, and compliance across all entities.

Expected Experience

Must-Haves:

1. 7–12 years of experience in accounting, finance, or Controller-level roles.
2. Strong background in real estate development is required.
3. Hands-on experience managing budgets, cash flows, and cost controls for active projects.
4. Experience coordinating with external accounting firms, CPAs, and fund administrators on tax matters, audits, and financial reporting for real estate entities.
5. Advanced Excel / financial modeling skills.
6. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a lean environment.
7. Strong communicator who can work cross-functionally with leadership, development, and operations teams.

Nice-to-Haves

1. Experience with construction cost management and draw processes.
2. Experience supporting investor reporting and private capital structures.
3. Background in hospitality or mixed-use real estate projects.
4. Familiarity with project management and cost-tracking tools (e.g., Northspyre or similar).
