Position Overview
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Stainless Steel Welder II: Performs MIG and TIG welding, polishing, metal finishing, Material rigging and handling for crane and forklift, and assembly. Uses a broad range of power tools, hand tools and auto/semi-auto equipment. Able to read and interpret a variety of drawings and work instructions. Adjust work stations and area according to workpiece
size and shape. Performs basic recordkeeping as required. Accurately fill out timesheet. Stainless steel welders are required to comply with departmental safety requirements, contribute to quality improvements and interact/communicate within the department as a function of the position. Certification for various skills may be required for employment or career advancement.

Responsibilities
Typical activities include:
- Follow and mentors safety procedures and PPE
- MIG and TIG welding on intermediate level projects with minimal rework
- Perform basic purge welding
- Understand and execute safe lifting and rigging with crane and forklifts
- Consistently completing projects within expected timeframes.
- Read and interpret complex drawings, Recognizing the for occasional deviations from drawing. Decision making is required.
- Effectively train lesser experienced coworkers
- Work under limited supervision
Education:
- GED or High school diploma
- Welding certificate a plus
- 2–5 years of related Tig welding experience
- Perform basic Purge welding
- 2-5 years experience reading and interpreting complex drawings.
- 2-5 years experience executing safe lifting and rigging with crane and forklifts.
- Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and in proximity to loud equipment.
- Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to see and respond to at-risk situations.
- Must be able to wear personal protective gear when in industrial locations.
- Must be able sit for longer periods of time as well as move about throughout the office and production, / laboratory environment.
