Fire Alarm Technician Apprentice

Location: Quincy, MA
Full-Time | Entry-Level | Training Provided

We’re looking for an energetic, motivated Fire Alarm Technician Apprentice who wants to learn the trade, grow their skills, and become a licensed technician with our support.

What You’ll Do

As a Fire Alarm Technician Apprentice, you’ll work alongside experienced, licensed technicians and learn how to inspect, service, install, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems across multiple manufacturers. You will:

  • Assist with annual, semi-annual, quarterly, and monthly fire alarm inspections
  • Learn how to troubleshoot and service fire alarm systems with a licensed system tech or electrician
  • Test equipment after installation or repair to confirm proper operation
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
  • Communicate daily with the operations team on job progress, issues, and scheduling updates
  • Complete inspection forms, service reports, and job documentation electronically using a tablet
  • Help coordinate repairs for deficiencies found during inspections
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Support the project close-out process to ensure jobs are completed and billed
  • Travel to job sites with a licensed technician (valid driver’s license required)
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Who We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for someone who is reliable, eager to learn, and looking to build a long-term career in the fire alarm trade. We’re looking for someone who:

  • Wants to grow within the fire alarm industry and is willing to enroll in licensing courses (financial assistance provided)
  • Has basic knowledge of NFPA codes (preferred, not required)
  • Is comfortable handling low-voltage wiring and related equipment
  • Can complete reports electronically on a tablet
  • Works well in a team environment and takes direction from a lead technician
  • Has strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Holds a valid driver’s license and can travel within Massachusetts
  • Can pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and reference check
