What are the responsibilities and job description for the Local Box Truck Driver position at Relay Express?
Job Description:
- Monday-Friday and every other Saturday
- 8am start time will end around 6pm
- Will start your day doing local deliveries in Cincinnati, then around 1pm will either do a pick up in Columbus to deliver back down to Cincinnati or a pick up in Louisville that will deliver back to Cincinnati
Responsibilities:
- Operate a company-supplied box truck for local and regional deliveries.
- Adhere to a fixed schedule, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, with additional work every other Saturday.
- Load, secure, and unload freight using a pallet jack, ensuring goods are handled with care.
- Maintain the cleanliness and operational condition of the assigned truck.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch to optimize route efficiency and delivery schedules.
- Comply with all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety guidelines.
- Represent the company professionally in customer interactions.
Job Requirements:
- Valid DOT Medical Card: Must possess a current Department of Transportation Medical Card.
- Experience: At least 6 months of verifiable experience driving a box truck.
- Driving Record: Maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
- Background Check: Pass a thorough background check.
- Physical Capability: Ability to regularly use a pallet jack for the loading and unloading of freight.
- Flexibility: Availability to work Monday to Friday and every other Saturday, with day shift preference.
