This role serves as a senior escalation point for complex development scenarios, provides deep technical guidance, and influences best practices across the developer ecosystem. In addition to direct developer enablement, the Senior Specialist partners crossfunctionally with Engineering, Product, Sales and Customer teams to improve developer experience, platform adoption, and solution quality.

This role operates with a high degree of autonomy and is expected to lead initiatives, mentor peers, and contribute to strategic improvements within the Developer Services team and the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Job Description and Requirements

  • Act as a senior technical advisor to developers building custom applications and integrations on the Relativity platform, supporting complex and non‑standard use cases with strong architectural judgment.
  • Lead advanced onboarding, enablement, and training for developer audiences by delivering solution design reviews and architecture guidance aligned with Relativity best practices.
  • Provide expert guidance on the design and implementation of custom applications to ensure solutions are scalable, supportable, and aligned with platform capabilities.
  • Serve as an escalation point for high‑impact developer issues by conducting deep technical investigations, isolating root causes, and recommending durable, platform‑appropriate solutions.
  • Build, test, and share sample code snippets, proof‑of‑concepts, and other practical examples that help external developers visualize the recommended way to consume platform tools and APIs.
  • Leverage deep platform, API, and extensibility knowledge to resolve complex developer issues while balancing multiple concurrent work requests and deadlines.
  • Influence, document, and socialize development best practices, patterns, and guidance to improve overall developer experience and solution quality.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Product, Engineering, Account/Sales and Customer teams to provide high‑signal developer feedback and advocate for platform improvements.
  • Mentor and support Developer Services Specialists by providing technical coaching, sharing proven approaches, and contributing to team skill development.
  • Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives that improve developer tooling, documentation, and enablement programs.
  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and proactively with customers and internal stakeholders while operating independently with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
  • Identify, document, and submit product defects and actionable feedback discovered during developer engagements to support continuous platform improvement.
  • Participate in annual Relativity user conferences by leading flagship technical sessions and workshops that influence developer adoption, elevate platform best practices, and represent the voice of the external developer community.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Significant experience in software development, including designing, building, and supporting production applications.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and experience interacting with relational data stores as part of application development, troubleshooting, or reporting workflows.
  • Hands‑on experience with modern development languages and technologies, including but not limited to .NET, JavaScript, RESTful services, JSON, and similar frameworks or protocols.
  • Strong proficiency with modern development concepts such as APIs, application architecture, and cloud‑based solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across application, integration, and platform layers.
  • Experience working directly with developers or technical customers in a customer‑facing, consulting, or enablement role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proven experience collaborating cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building or supporting solutions on extensible SaaS or platform-based products, with exposure to technical mentorship and developer enablement practices such as training or documentation.
  • Proven experience advising developers on architecture and best practices, resolving complex or non‑standard technical scenarios, and translating developer feedback into actionable guidance or platform improvements.
  • Strong communicator with experience creating and delivering developer‑focused enablement content and engaging developer communities through documentation, presentations, workshops, webinars, or conference sessions.
  • Ability to operate autonomously with strong judgment, mentor technical peers, and collaborate cross‑functionally to drive improved developer experience and platform outcomes.
  • Familiarity with the Relativity platform, including RelativityOne concepts, APIs, and extensibility points, is strongly preferred.
  • Experience creating developer‑facing enablement materials such as sample code, reference implementations, tutorials, or architectural guidance, and presenting technical content through workshops, webinars, or conference sessions.
