Relative Dynamics is developing free-space optical communication internet terminals for high-altitude platforms and Low Earth Orbiting (LEO) spacecraft. Our mission is to enable commercial world-wide internet access.
As a Firmware Engineer, you are part of a cross-functional team developing optical terminal hardware. This position requires a background in digital signal processing (DSP) and communication theory.
What You'll Get to Do:
Responsibilities:
- Close collaboration with optical, mechanical, and electrical engineers to define free-space optical communication system requirements and solutions.
- Develop algorithms, code and hardware and firmware for RDI IRAD and SBIR projects.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading or contributing to multiple product development efforts, projects, and initiatives.
What You'll Need:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical or computer engineering, or relevant field and/or experience.
- 5 years experience working in firmware design.
- C , VHDL, Verilog, bare metal expertise.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desired:
- Communication system experience.
- Aerospace experience.
