Relate Search has partnered with a leading, multi-site manufacturing and distribution organization in its search for a Senior Director of Human Resources to serve as the strategic HR business partner to a large, operationally complex division. This role will play a critical part in aligning people strategy with business performance, strengthening leadership capability, and driving workforce effectiveness across multiple locations.
As a member of the HR leadership team, this leader will partner closely with executive and operations leadership to deliver scalable, high-impact HR solutions across labor relations, talent, culture, and organizational effectiveness. This is a highly visible role that blends strategic influence with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a senior advisor to operations leadership, aligning HR strategy with business goals, workforce planning, and organizational design across a multi-site environment.
- Provide oversight of labor relations strategy, including union engagement, collective bargaining support, contract administration, and risk mitigation.
- Lead employee relations and compliance efforts, ensuring consistent, equitable, and legally sound practices while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and engagement.
- Drive talent strategies across workforce planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, and leadership development to support operational performance and growth.
- Lead and develop the HR team while advancing HR capabilities, leveraging data and analytics to improve decision-making, and supporting M&A integration and enterprise HR initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 10–15 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including leadership roles supporting complex, multi-site organizations.
- Strong background in manufacturing, distribution, or similarly operational environments, with experience supporting frontline and leadership populations.
- Demonstrated expertise in labor relations, including union engagement and collective bargaining strategy (direct or indirect oversight).
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders, lead organizational change, and align HR strategy with business and operational outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree and/or HR certification (e.g., SHRM, SPHR) preferred.
