Relate Search has partnered with a global electric power generation company on their search for a skilled Control Room Operator to join their team in Hobbs, NM. This individual will play a key role in monitoring and operating all power plant systems to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge of power generation systems, experience in control room operations, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control all plant systems to ensure safe and reliable power generation.
- Respond to alarms and abnormal operating conditions, taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Execute plant start-up and shutdown procedures according to established protocols.
- Maintain accurate daily logs of plant performance, including electrical output, steam output, emissions, and fuel usage.
- Participate in plant inspections, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in a technical field preferred.
- Experience as a Control Room Operator or in a similar role within a power generation or industrial facility required.
- Knowledge of combustion/steam turbine operations, process controls, and water chemistry preferred.
- Familiarity with piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and preventive maintenance procedures.
- Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, and lift up to 50 lbs.
