What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified PLAY Project Consultant - Part Time position at Relate & Grow?
Relate & Grow is looking for one or two part-time, Certified PLAY Project Consultant OR a PLAY Project Consultant who is currently under supervision. A PLAY Project Consultant provides the PLAY Project Intervention to children, families and PLAY tutors in their home or at a school setting. We do provide services throughout Franklin County and the surrounding counties.
Requirements:
- Applicants MUST BE A PLAY PROJECT CONSULTANT, either fully certified or currently undergoing supervision and working towards receiving full certification (DIR Floortime certification will also be considered, depending on level).
- Have a currently valid Ohio professional license in good standing in an area related to child or human development such as: education, intervention, speech therapy, occupational therapy, social work, counseling, psychology, etc.
- Be willing to travel to areas in Central Ohio to provide PLAY Project Sessions. TelePLAY or hybrid services may be possible in some unique situations. At minimum, willingness to travel for up to 30 minutes each way to a case is required, although not all cases require the maximum amount of travel. However, the ideal candidate will ne open to longer distances throughout Central Ohio.
- Be self-motivated, resourceful, creative, organized, reliable, passionate about learning and working with children and their families, and willing to be playful, energetic, and active.
- Ideally provide a video and a report sample of their work providing the PLAY Project or DIR Floortime.
Compensation:
PLAY Project Consultants are paid "per visit and report" typically once per month per child. This includes a total of 3 hours of face to face service per month (sometimes split into 2 visits), and writing the monthly PLAY Project video review and PLAY Plan. The per visit pay rate ranges between $200 and $300 per month depending on certification status, level of experience, type of license and distance to the service location.
For example, a PLAY Project Consultant providing full PLAY Project visits to one child will make $200 to $300 for each month that they provide a visit. A Consultant providing PLAY Project visits to 2 children will make $400 to $600 for each month in which they provide a visit, and so on.
PLAY Project Consultants who are also licensed as Intervention Specialists, may be able to take on additional education and intervention tasks that will be compensated in addition to the PLAY Project visit. This can represent an additional $1275 per year, per child in exchange for 20 to 30 hours of flex-time work per year, per child.

The schedule can be built around other work or life commitments and can be increased as opportunities arise. Some visits can be provided through TelePLAY, although face to face visits are preferred.

- Supervision and support from Monica Quezada Lott, a PLAY Project Master Trainer, and DIR Training Leader
- For PLAY Project Consultants currently Under Supervision, Monica may be able to take on some of their supervision and negotiate a reduced training rate with the PLAY Project Organization.
