Position Summary


The Electrical Installation Technician is responsible for executing industrial electrical installations for automated production lines, ensuring proper integration of electrical and control systems while meeting project timelines, quality standards, and safety requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install industrial electrical infrastructure, including:
  • Cable trays, ladders, and supports
  • Conduit systems (EMT, IMC, RMC)
  • Perform cable pulling and routing (power, control, and communication wiring).
  • Assemble, mount, and wire:
  • Electrical panels
  • Control cabinets
  • Operator stations
  • Read and interpret:
  • Electrical schematics
  • Layout drawings
  • I/O diagrams
  • Connect field devices, including:
  • Sensors and actuators
  • Electric motors (AC/DC)
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Support electrical integration of automated systems (robots, conveyors, tooling).
  • Perform electrical testing:
  • Continuity checks
  • Insulation resistance (megger testing)
  • Signal verification (I/O checks)
  • Assist with startup and commissioning activities.
  • Follow all safety standards (LOTO, OSHA, NEC).
  • Report progress, issues, and punch list items.


Technical Requirements

Education:

  • Technical degree or certification in Electrical, Electromechanical, or related field.

Experience:

  • 2–5 years in industrial electrical installation, preferably in automotive or manufacturing environments.

Core Skills & Knowledge:

  • Industrial electrical installations in field environments.
  • Electrical drawing interpretation.
  • Wiring and termination of control panels.
  • Familiarity with industrial wiring types (THHN, control cables, communication cables).
  • Use of electrical testing tools (multimeter, megger).
  • Basic PLC knowledge (for I/O testing).
  • Understanding of U.S. electrical standards (NEC is a plus).
