Position Summary
As a SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager, you lead the preparation and filing of SEC reports, support complex accounting matters, and ensure the integrity of consolidated financial results. The role requires strong technical accounting expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced public-company environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
SEC Reporting
- Prepare and file quarterly and annual SEC reports, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and related disclosures.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant filings.
- Maintain and update disclosure controls and documentation for financial reporting.
Consolidation & Financial Close
- Compile consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules, and analysis for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
- Review subsidiary financials and ensure consistency with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
Revenue Recognition & Technical Accounting
- Lead technical accounting assessments, including ASC 606 revenue recognition analysis and documentation.
- Research, interpret, and implement new accounting standards and complex transactions (e.g., business combinations, impairments, stock-based compensation).
- Partner with business units to ensure proper accounting treatment for customer contracts and new product offerings.
SOX Readiness & Compliance
- Drive SOX readiness initiatives, including control documentation, process mapping, and gap remediation.
- Support ongoing SOX testing, remediation efforts, and coordination with internal and external auditors.
- Monitor and enhance internal controls over financial reporting.

You bring to the organization the following competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred).
- 5 years of experience in SEC reporting, technical accounting, or public accounting (Big 4 experience a plus).
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX requirements.
- Experience in a public company environment and with consolidation processes.
- Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Experience with Sage Intacct, or similar reporting systems a plus.
- Exposure to software/SaaS revenue models and contract reviews.
- Ability to operate independently and identify process improvements.
- Adaptable to organizational change
- Position is based Columbia MD with flexibility for hybrid work arrangements
- No travel requirement

Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
