Microbiologist

Summary

Our client is looking for a microbiologist to join their team. The successful candidate will be actively involved in performing routine assays in the production laboratory and R&D department when required. This position is ideal for recent graduates with one to five years experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform virus RNA extraction from biological samples using validated, automated and/or manual protocols 
• Conduct Reverse Transcription - PCR assays for the detection and quantification of viral RNA
• Carry out the following techniques:
• • Molecular biology (DNA Extraction, PCR, and Sequencing)
  • Microbiology (culture techniques, aseptic handling, microbial identification)
  • Immunology (ELISA, antigen-antibody-based assays)
• Support production laboratory workflows, ensuring high-throughput processing of samples with stringent adherence to protocols
• Maintain accurate documentation of results in laboratory information systems (LIMS)
• Perform quality control (QC) procedures and ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality Assurance, Production, Engineering, and Research and Development staff

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in microbiology or biology or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 years of production or academic laboratory experience.
