Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: The estimator provides customers with an estimated cost and lead-time to produce a manufactured part. The estimator will utilize an Excel spreadsheet to input materials and labor to determine the price to quote the customer and will deliver the quote to the customer. Estimators must communicate professionally with coworkers and customers.
Essential Functions:·
- Ensure customer’s request for quote includes all required information.
- Calculate the cost of production (materials, labor and additional charges) using a spreadsheet calculator.
- Communicate with internal personnel and customers.
- Prepare all required paperwork for the customer file.
- Complete quote form and deliver to customer.
- Answer customer questions related to quotes, as requested.
- Any other additional job functions as deemed necessary.
Required Qualifications:
Skills
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Excellent mathematical and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills
Experience
- 1 year working in a manufacturing environment preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
