Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial and commercial electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute wiring and system layouts.
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely in accordance with NFPA 70 compliance standards and electrical safety procedures.
- Diagnose electrical issues within complex industrial systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and automation controls.
- Conduct routine maintenance on electrical infrastructure to prevent system failures and ensure optimal performance.
- Adhere strictly to local electrical codes while performing wiring projects on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Utilize troubleshooting techniques to identify faults in electrical circuits or equipment quickly and efficiently, minimizing downtime.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician with a strong background in commercial electrical systems.
- Valid journeyman electrician license or certification demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of electrical work standards.
- Extensive experience reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) regulations and adherence to all relevant safety procedures.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Experience working on high-voltage wiring projects within industrial environments.
- Ability to interpret technical documents related to industrial electrical systems and automation controls such as PLCs.
- Construction site experience with the ability to adapt quickly to changing project requirements.
- Knowledge of low voltage wiring systems used in commercial settings along with renovation experience is highly desirable.
