Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various settings, including commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in accordance with local electrical codes, NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), and safety procedures.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring and system layouts.
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring and low-voltage system installations for industrial or commercial applications.
- Diagnose electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment; develop effective solutions promptly.
- Work on construction sites or renovation projects, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project specifications.
- Install programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation components to support industrial processes.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely and efficiently during all phases of electrical work.
- Follow electrical safety procedures rigorously to prevent accidents or hazards on the job site.
- Read electrical schematics and blueprints accurately to guide installation or repair tasks.
- Collaborate with other trades such as frame carpentry or handyman services when necessary for integrated project completion.
Requirements
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems and local codes.
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician with a solid understanding of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) compliance.
- Strong background in electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting complex issues efficiently.
- Experience working with high-voltage wiring systems as well as low-voltage control circuits.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, blueprints reading, and electrical system design.
- Ability to perform high-voltage electrical wiring safely on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment essential for electrical work.
- Construction site experience coupled with knowledge of safety procedures related to electrical work in dynamic environments.
- Knowledge of NEC standards and adherence to all applicable local electrical codes during installation and repairs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance challenges.
- Additional nice-to-have skills include handyman experience, frame carpentry knowledge, renovation project involvement, or experience with schematics beyond basic blueprints.
- Work nights with $5 adder per hour
