This position is in office, part-time Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8am to 5:30pm.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct preliminary testing, such as visual acuity, visual field and eye pressure tests
- Assist the physician with medical procedures, including the use of ophthalmic instruments and equipment
- Educate patients on eye health, use of medications and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate patient medical records and charting
- Prepare exam rooms and equipment for patients, ensuring that all instruments and supplies are properly sterilized
- Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
Qualifications & Skills
- Certification from a recognized Ophthalmic Medical Assistant program preferred
- Experience working in an ophthalmology clinic or eye care setting
- Proficiency in using ophthalmic diagnostic equipment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual language skills are an asset
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology and eye anatomy
- 1-2 years of experience as an Ophthalmic Medical Assistant
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24.0 per week
