The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting and, when delegated, leading the overall management of a parking facility. This role supervises staff, manages operational processes, and exercises independent judgment in staffing, client relations, and financial performance. The Assistant Manager acts as second-in-command and assumes full operational responsibility in the absence of the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage location staff, including delegating tasks, coaching, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Participate in hiring decisions, including interviewing, selecting, and onboarding new employees; make recommendations for promotions and terminations.
- Assist in scheduling and workforce planning to ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and property managers when delegated; attend meetings and resolve client concerns to maintain strong relationships.
- Monitor and manage facility maintenance and safety standards, including overseeing maintenance projects and ensuring timely completion.
- Oversee ticket inventory, cash flow, audits, and loss prevention strategies; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Review and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly operating reports; make operational adjustments to achieve budget goals and improve profitability.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment in resolving escalated guest concerns, operational issues, and staffing challenges.
- Respond to incidents and accidents promptly, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and reporting requirements.
- Communicate professionally with guests, clients, and team members at all times.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in parking operations, hospitality, or customer service.
- Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid Driver License and good driving record.
- Standard Criminal Search MVR
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the facility for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to drive
- Outdoor and indoor environments; exposure to weather conditions.
- Fast-paced, customer-focused setting.
