Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Venue Manager to lead the operations of Poplar Springs Manor. In this role, you will oversee daily activities, ensure exceptional guest experiences, and maintain a lively yet organized environment. Your leadership will drive team performance, uphold safety standards, and foster a welcoming atmosphere that keeps guests returning. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage multiple event spaces, blending hospitality expertise with strategic management skills to create memorable experiences for all visitors.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of wedding and event operations at the venue (email account, venue walkthroughs, attend tastings, scheduling, assist with organizing wedding shows, etc…)
- Assist with inventory management of venue equipment and supplies.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams on site tours and prospective client communications.
- Participate in ongoing training and development of staff.
- Manage ongoing site improvements and scheduling to ensure no or limited disruption to venue operations.
- Communicate when necessary with venue ownership.
- Provide general assistance to RMG as it pertains to the interconnected operation of venues under management.
- Development of new processes, marketing and engagement strategies.
- Management of all employees for the venue that are under the contracted management of RMG.
- Following all applicable guidelines and policies set forth by the Manors VA/Gala Global.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients, vendors, and internal staff from booking through event execution.
- Ensure all events are executed according to contract terms, client expectations, and company standards.
- Ensure payments are received according to client contracts and addendums, and report any overdue payments to management/accounting.
- Ensure proper staffing of events and serve as an emergency backup to events when necessary.
- Conduct pre-event walkthroughs, schedule unguided tours, vendor site visits, etc…
- Maintain and enforce venue policies, safety protocols, and cleanliness standards.
- Handle on-site problem-solving and decision-making to ensure smooth operations during events.
- Oversee setup and breakdown of event spaces, ensuring timeline and layout accuracy.
- Support post-event wrap-up including client follow-up, inventory checks, and team debriefing.
- Maintain updated records of bookings, contracts, event timelines, and staffing needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in events management within a hospitality setting
- Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or assistant manager experience in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest concerns diplomatically
- Demonstrated ability in report writing for incident logs, shift reports, and operational documentation
- Background in hospitality management, including managing and coordinating events effectively
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
