What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machinist / Programmer position at REIGN Manufacturing?
Reign Manufacturing is a precision CNC machine shop in Springfield, MA built on expert engineering, advanced machines, and parts built to perform. We are growing, and we are looking for a machinist who wants more than a spot on a production line. This is a lead role with real ownership of the shop floor.
The Role:
As our CNC Machinist / Programmer, you will own the full production workflow, from job intake through finished parts. You will work directly with the owner, and your decisions will shape how this shop runs and grows.
Responsibilities:
- Review job packages, engineering drawings, and 3D models to plan and execute production
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for all assigned jobs
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC and manual machining equipment
- Manage tooling, fixturing, and work holding for each job
- Perform in-process and final inspection to ensure parts meet print and quality requirements
- Maintain accurate job records, traveler documentation, and shop floor organization
- Identify process improvements and flag production issues early
- Help build the shop's systems, workflows, and standard operating procedures from the ground up
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience setting up, programming, and running CNC mills and/or lathes
- CAM programming proficiency is required, along with the ability to read and write G code by hand when a job calls for it
- Comfort working directly from customer drawings, models, and job documentation
- Solid blueprint reading, including GD&T
- Confidence with inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges
- A self-directed work style. You can take a job package and run with it
- Pride in your work and attention to detail on every part
Pay & Benefits:
- $35.00 to $40.00 per hour, based on experience
- Paid time off covering vacation, sick, and personal time

- Formal 90-day review to evaluate performance, compensation, and schedule
Schedule:
- Full-time, 40 hours per week, with flexible hours.
