Duties
- Perform detailed quality inspections using measuring instruments such as calipers, tape measure, gauges, and vision inspection systems to verify dimensional accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Interpret manufacturing blueprints and mechanical drawings accurately to facilitate proper inspection and assembly processes.
- Manage inventory control by tracking parts and materials through data collection setup by the Project Manager, ensuring accurate stock levels and proper storage organization.
- Support shop organization by maintaining clean work areas, labeling components clearly, and organizing tools and measuring devices for optimal workflow.
- Assist in calibration of measurement tools and equipment such as coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to guarantee measurement precision.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify root causes of quality issues using analysis skills and implement corrective actions aligned with quality management systems like HACCP, CGMP, and FDA regulations.
Skills
- Experience in Quality Control and knowledge of quality inspection techniques including the use of precision measuring instruments such as calipers, tape measure, and height gauges.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficiency in data collection methods for quality assurance purposes and analyzing measurement data for process improvements. MS Excel experience a plus.
- Ability to operate calibration equipment such as tape measures and height gauges confidently.
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations related to dimensional tolerances.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining shop cleanliness, inventory accuracy, and proper storage of tools and measuring devices.
- Comfort in working in a physical shop environment
- Experience operating a forklift is a plus
