Reidsville Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our overnight team! This is an excellent opportunity for motivated, clinically skilled assistants who thrive in a fast-paced ER and outpatient environment, are confident in triage, and take pride in delivering high-quality patient care during overnight hours.
This role is ideal for a self-starter who is comfortable working independently and on a team overnight while collaborating closely with on-call veterinarians and support staff to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
In this role, you will:
- Perform outpatient and ER triage during overnight hours, assessing patients and prioritizing care appropriately.
- Provide exceptional patient care in treatment and hospitalization areas, supporting urgent, emergent, and inpatient cases overnight.
- Perform phlebotomy, place IV catheters, collect lab samples, and run in-house laboratory tests.
- Assist with and monitor sedated procedures, overnight treatments, and hospitalized patients.
- Accurately carry out veterinarian-directed treatments while maintaining detailed and thorough medical records.
Schedule: This is a flexible position open to full-time or part-time candidates. Overnight hours 9:00 PM 7:00 AM with availability needed: MondaySunday. Weekend overnight availability is required.
Full-time benefits and compensation**:
- Compensation: $20 $25 per hour, for each hour worked* (with additional stipends for hours worked after 7pm)
- Bonus: $500 - $2,000 depending on experience and licensure

Minimum qualifications and skill set:
- 3 years of veterinary assistant experience in a clinical setting REQUIRED
- Current Veterinary Technician License in the state of North Carolina preferred
- Proficiency in:
- Phlebotomy
- IV catheter placement
- Inpatient and outpatient care
- Radiology and laboratory skills
- Triage and client communication
