About the Role
The General Manager will oversee all day‑to‑day operations of the facility, including production, staffing, safety, quality, logistics, and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for building a strong culture, developing processes, and ensuring the company meets its operational and financial goals.
This is a leadership role with significant autonomy and influence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and delivery timelines are consistently met
- Build, mentor, and manage a high‑performing team across production, warehouse, and administrative functions
- Develop and implement operational processes, SOPs, and performance metrics
- Oversee scheduling, capacity planning, and resource allocation
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Manage budgets, cost controls, and operational KPIs
- Partner with ownership on strategic planning, forecasting, and scaling initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement using lean manufacturing principles
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders
- Support hiring, onboarding, and workforce development as the company grows
- Identify operational risks and implement proactive solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing, production, or industrial operations
- Proven ability to manage teams in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong understanding of production workflows, quality systems, and safety standards
- Experience with lean manufacturing, process improvement, or scaling operations
- Excellent communication, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills
- Comfortable working in a startup environment where priorities evolve quickly
- Ability to build structure, systems, and culture from the ground up
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
- Experience launching or scaling a new facility or production line
- ERP or manufacturing software implementation
- Budgeting, forecasting, and P&L exposure
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk the production floor regularly
- Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs occasionally
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment (noise, temperature variations)
