What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rental Counter Associate position at Reid Rental?
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service & Sales: Greet customers, determine their needs, recommend appropriate equipment, and provide advice on project requirements.
- Rental Transactions: Prepare rental contracts, obtain customer signatures, verify insurance/documents, and process payments (cash, credit, POs). Explain rental policies to customers.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of rentals, inventory, and customer information using computer systems.
- Inventory Control: Monitor the availability of rental equipment, perform inventory counts, and assist with merchandising.
- Issue Resolution: Handle customer complaints, damages, or equipment issues with a professional attitude.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in the equipment rental industry, tool, or construction industry is preferred but not required.
- Education: A high school diploma or GED.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, basic math skills, and proficiency with computers .
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, lift, and carry equipment up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with tools, machinery, and construction equipment is desired, but no experience needed. In house training provided.
Typical Work Environment & Schedule
- Environment: Indoor retail/counter area, but often involves moving to the yard/warehouse to check equipment.
Bi-Lingual (English Spanish is a plus)
No experience required, we will train the right candidate. If you are proficient with customer service and have a good attitude, please apply. Part time work. Monday, Friday and Saturday, 7:30-5:30. Potential for more hours if we need the coverage.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
