Schedule: Three week rotation: 7a - 4:30p Monday-Thursday for two weeks, 8a - 4:30p Monday-Friday the third week.
About The Position
Under the direction of the Neurologist(s) and Practice Supervisor/Manager the technician is responsible for performing and assisting the Neurologist with diagnostic procedures in both the outpatient and inpatient settings.

About The Position
Under the direction of the Neurologist(s) and Practice Supervisor/Manager the technician is responsible for performing and assisting the Neurologist with diagnostic procedures in both the outpatient and inpatient settings.
Overview Of Responsibilities
- Be able to evaluate a patient for any physical, social and psychological needs.
- Education of the patient on the procedure.
- Educate patient on remote monitoring device and proper care of the device.
- Addresses and communicates patient’s concerns to the physician.
- Compiles results of the procedure and forwards to physician.
- Reviews patient insurance and obtains prior authorization, if applicable, prior to scheduling.
- Schedules patient for outpatient testing.
- Transcribes external order into the electronic medical record.
- Be able to perform CPR if needed
- Adheres to infection control standards set by the organization.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and operating skills for proper handling of equipment and supplies.
- Weekend/Holiday call as needed; frequency dependent on number of technicians in the department
- Routinely meets the culture of every patient every time regarding the patient experience by utilizing AIDET & KSBs.
Education & Experience
- Education Required: High School graduate or GED equivalent. Must complete successful EEG and NCV/EMG orientation and competency within 1 year of employment.
- Experience Required: Must have minimum of 1 year experience in a patient care setting. Neurology experience is preferred. Demonstrated understanding of insurance and prior authorizations
