Risk Manager / Patient Safety Officer – Critical Access Hospital (Mountain Community, SoCal)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

A small, community-focused Critical Access Hospital in a Southern California mountain town is seeking a hands-on Risk Manager / Patient Safety Officer to lead risk and patient safety for the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the hospital’s Risk Management and Patient Safety programs

• Oversee incident/variance reporting and trend analysis

• Support survey readiness and accreditation activities

• Partner with ED, nursing, quality, and medical staff

• Serve as liaison to malpractice carrier and legal resources

• Supervise Patient Advocate and collaborate on grievances

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• California RN strongly preferred (high-functioning LVN with strong hospital risk/quality experience may be considered)

• 3 years of acute care hospital experience

• Experience in risk, patient safety, quality, RCA, or peer review

• Comfortable working in a small, lean environment (CAH/rural/small community hospital preferred)

• Excellent communicator with strong relationship-building skills

• Must be willing to live full-time in the local mountain community

COMPENSATION

• $125,000 – $175,000 annually (DOE)
