SUMMARY:
The Compliance/Regulatory Officer directs organizational adherence and product compliance to industry-specific regulations, and environmental, health, and safety regulations, per our customers’ requirements. Responding to customer requests will occupy the majority of the Regulatory Officer’s time. This role involves developing and implementing compliance programs, monitoring regulatory changes, and mitigating risks to maintain legal and ethical standards. Researches, plans, designs, and completes compliance policies and protocols, to ensure our products conform to laws and regulations required by our customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. (Other duties may be assigned.)
- for compliance documents and information regarding compliance policies
- Monitor and interpret international regulations, as well as local, state, federal regulations, to ensure organizational adherence and product compliance
- Coordinate with any Third-Party compliance partners to advise RAM (Reid Ashman Mfg.) on regulatory obligations for product compliance
- Stay updated on regulatory changes, both domestic and international, and advise RAM leadership
- Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports, permits, and documentation to relevant authorities
- Investigate incidents of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures
- Collaborate with legal, operational, and management teams to align processes with regulations
- Train employees on regulatory requirements and company compliance policies
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, and/or EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, or a related role.
- Prior experience in risk management or compliance roles is preferred
- Certifications in compliance (e.g., Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager) is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Law, or Business may be beneficial
- Understanding of safety, health, and environmental regulations (e.g., REACH, RoHS, EPA, OSHA, etc.) preferred
- to interpret complex legal and regulatory documents highly preferred
- Familiar with Conflict Minerals, and SVHC’s preferred
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Proficiency in compliance management software or tools is beneficial
- Experience working with 3rd party compliance organizations is beneficial
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Primarily office-based, with occasional site visits or inspections
- Will require interaction with regulatory agencies or external auditors
- Fast-paced environment with a focus on deadlines and accuracy
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Applicant must have the ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals as well as be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, regulators, clients, customers, and suppliers.
REASONING ABILITY: Superior attention to detail in order to ensure compliance with a variety of regulations and laws. Must be a strong communicator and capable of expressing oneself clearly both in speaking and in writing. Possess a collaborative personality and be open to suggestions from team members. Exemplify strong knowledge of industry protocols and best practices. Excellent analytical skills and ability to accurately interpret complex documents and policies.
Strong time management and organizational skills and able to meet deadlines. Should have a strong moral code and sense of ethics.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Ability to use and a general understanding of Windows based operating systems. One or more years of experience using Word and Excel. Ability to understand and complete proprietary documentation as provided to us by customers and their legal representatives.
