Reicks View Farms is seeking a Live Production Health Technician to join our team.
As the Live Production Health Technician, you will be responsible for submitting lab samples to the ISU Vet Diagnostic Lab and prepping/testing lab samples at the Reicks View Farms Diagnostic Lab.
As a member of our team, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
- Record and submit lab samples to the ISU Vet Diagnostic Lab
- Assist the Live Production Health Correspondent with preparation and testing of serum, oral fluids, feces, processing fluids, tongue tip fluids, rectal swabs, tracheal swabs, tonsil oral scrubbings and environmental samples via PCR
- Analyze results to determine the health status of sites
- Live production data reporting
The ideal person is extremely detail-oriented and has exceptional problem-solving skills as well as professional communication skills and is proficient in Microsoft Excel. This person has time management skills, can multitask, is organized and trustworthy. The candidate will be responsible for having a very biosecure working environment. Two-year college degree preferred. Lab experience also preferred but not required.
