Shop & Warehouse Technician (Full-Time)

Location: Shop / Warehouse Based
Schedule: 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Morning Operations)

Pay: start at $20/hour

Position Overview

Reichel Insulation is looking for a full-time reliable, hands‑on Shop & Warehouse Technician. This is a critical operational support role responsible for ensuring crews, materials, equipment, and facilities are prepared, organized, and operating efficiently. This position directly supports daily field production by preventing delays, maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting equipment readiness, and keeping the shop and yard safe and functional. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety‑minded, and comfortable working around heavy equipment and trucks. This is a physical, no‑desk hands-on, fast-paced job for someone who likes staying busy, working around equipment, and pitching in wherever needed.

Key Responsibilities

Morning Operations (Primary Focus for 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM Shift)

• Review daily work orders for required materials, equipment, and specialty items
• Load trucks and trailers accurately and efficiently
• Fueling company vehicles, machines, and equipment
• Support early-morning logistics to prevent job delays
• Ensure all crew departs on time and are fully prepared
• Run forgotten or last-minute materials, parts, and supplies to job sites as needed
• Pick up forgotten materials, parts, and supplies

Warehouse & Inventory Operations

• Order pick, stage, and prepare materials for daily jobs
• Receive, verify, unload, and organize inbound deliveries
• Maintain physical inventory accuracy and material / warehouse organization
• Prevent material damage, loss, and overstocking
• Maintain clean, orderly interior shop and warehouse areas
• Perform heavy lifting as required

Equipment, Vehicles & Shop Support

• Operate forklift and man lifts (certification required or obtainable)
• Operate skid steer for snow removal and wood/material handling
• Load and unload materials using equipment safely and efficiently
• Experience with trucks and trailer combo
• Clean and maintain company vehicles, trailers and equipment as needed
• Assist shop mechanic with vehicle and equipment maintenance as needed
• Monitor and maintain shop and facility areas, including:
• Utility / Furnace room - Scheduled filter changes, fill water softener
• General machine and mechanical area upkeep

Grounds, Facility & Seasonal Work

• General groundskeeping and exterior shop maintenance
• Comfortable working outdoors year‑round
• Manage dump barrels, garbage, and recycling removal without backlog
• Perform dump runs and material disposal
• Maintain yard organization
• Seasonal duties include:
• Snow plowing and snow removal (including possible weekends/on call)
• Mowing and exterior maintenance
• Wood handling and seasonal material organization
• Overtime during peak season

Driving & Compliance

• Drive company vehicles for material runs, dump runs, and equipment transport
• Maintain a valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
• Maintain DOT medical card if required
• Follow all safety, driving, and equipment operation procedures

Qualifications

• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
• Experience with skid steers, man lifts, or heavy equipment preferred
• Valid driver’s license with clean, insurable record
• DOT medical card (or ability to obtain)
• Experience with trucks and trailer combo
• Snow removal experience a plus
• Construction, warehouse, or shop environment experience
• Safety awareness and adherence to procedures are essential
• Ability to perform physical labor and comfortable working outdoors in all seasons
• Strong work ethic, time management, the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Positive attitude, team-first mindset and a willingness to help wherever needed to support operations
• Reliable attendance and punctuality (especially for early-morning shift)
