What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Technician position at REIC?
REIC is hiring a courteous and detail-oriented Heavy Equipment Technician at our Belgrade location (we offer relocation assistance for the right candidate). Our ideal candidate will have experience working on all types of equipment (both diesel and gasoline), an eye for safety, and enjoy working on a team and in a fast-paced environment.
As a Heavy Equipment Technician, this is an in-shop position responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, including diesel and gasoline engines and equipment over 10,000 lbs. Upon return to the shop, equipment will be inspected for damage and repaired and serviced as needed. Services may include turnarounds, repairs, and annual preventative maintenance.

A typical day might include the following:
- Diagnose, repair & maintain equipment both diesel and gasoline engines mostly in the shop, but some in field as needed.
- Service and operate a variety of equipment greater than 10,000lbs.
- Communicate with customers and provide excellent customer service.
- Accurate look-up of needed parts.
- Manage inventory and costs for labor and parts.
- Maintain work area organization, safety, and cleanliness.
- Meet company record-keeping expectations.
- Recognition of cost to repair versus value equation.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with emergency calls as needed and a rotating on-call schedule.

Top candidates will have:
- Technical repair knowledge on a wide range of equipment.
- Work in shop and in field as needed.
- Ability to multi-task, work independently, and be self-motivated.
- Driving record violation-free for previous three years.
- All appropriate hand tools related to general repair and maintenance operations.
- Able to lift 70 lbs. or more, several times per day.
