Job 2: Personal Care Aide (PCA), Part-Time/ Live-In

Rehoboth Elderly Care is a New York State licensed home care services agency (LHCSA) serving Nassau / Suffolk / Queens. We help older adults and people with disabilities live safely and comfortably at home.
The role
You will live in a client's home for shifts, helping with daily personal care, household tasks, and companionship under a plan of care set by our registered nurse. It's a great start in home care, with a clear path to become a certified Home Health Aide.
Responsibilities
- Help with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and incontinence care
- Assist with walking, transfers, and positioning, using lifts where trained
- Remind clients to take their medications (no administration)
- Plan and prepare meals, including simple modified diets, and help with feeding
- Light housekeeping, laundry, changing linens, shopping and errands
- Escort clients to appointments and community activities
- Provide companionship and report any change in condition to the RN right away
- Document care, sleep, and meal breaks accurately in EVV app each shift
- Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA privacy rules
Requirements
- Completed NYS DOH-approved Personal Care Aide training (or a current HHA certificate) and listing on the NYS Home Care Registry
- Don't have a certificate yet? [Ask about our free PCA training class]
- Clean NYS DOH criminal history record check (fingerprinting arranged by us)
- Medical clearance: physical, TB/PPD test, and proof of measles and rubella immunity
- Annual flu vaccine, or mask wearing during flu season per NYS rules
- Smartphone for electronic visit verification (EVV)
- Preferred: live-in or dementia care experience, Spanish / Creole / and more
