Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist
- Provide direct patient care and interventions to individuals of all ages, including pediatrics and adults
- Help patients improve their motor skills, coordination, balance, and functional abilities
- Teach patients how to use adaptive equipment and assistive devices to enhance their independence
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records of treatments and interventions
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Familiarity with occupational health principles and practices
- Experience working with pediatric and adult populations preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other healthcare professionals
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Skills:
- Proficiency in conducting assessments and evaluations
- Ability to develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
- Knowledge of various therapeutic techniques and modalities
- Familiarity with acute care settings and medical imaging procedures
