The Patient Account Specialist (PAS) plays a key role in supporting patients through the financial aspects of their care while actively managing patient accounts receivable. This position is responsible for inbound and outbound patient communication, resolving outstanding balances, establishing payment arrangements, and ensuring patients clearly understand their financial responsibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handles inbound/outbound patient phone calls
- Manages Patient Accounts Receivable, including follow-up and resolution
- Processes patient payments
- Provides patient account support
- Understands, reviews, and explains patient balances to patients, clinics, and team members
- Documents account activity accurately in the billing system
- Collaborates with teams to resolve account issues
Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred) Experience: Minimum two (2) years of experience in medical billing, healthcare administration, or patient financial services preferred. Knowledge of health insurance processing and patient financial responsibility concepts. Experience communicating with patients regarding accounts preferred.
