About the Role
Rehabilitation Center of Winter Park is seeking a motivated and results-driven Director of Admissions to lead all aspects of the admissions and census development process. This leadership role is responsible for driving occupancy, managing referral relationships, and ensuring a smooth, compliant admissions process across multiple care settings.
The ideal candidate has strong admissions sales experience within Skilled Nursing, Hospital, or Assisted Living environments and thrives in a fast-paced, relationship-driven healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full admissions process, including inquiry intake, bed availability, clinical coordination, and admission approvals
Act as the primary liaison with hospitals, discharge planners, case managers, physicians, insurance providers, and community referral sources
Drive census growth through proactive admissions sales, referral follow-up, and relationship management
Coordinate with Nursing, Social Services, Therapy, and the Business Office to ensure admissions meet clinical and regulatory requirements
Review referral and clinical documentation to determine admission appropriateness based on facility capabilities and payer requirements
Ensure timely and accurate completion of all admission paperwork, consents, and required documentation
Partner with the Administrator and leadership team on census development strategies and outreach initiatives
Conduct facility tours and educate residents and families on services, levels of care, and expectations
Track referral activity, admission trends, and census data; provide regular updates to leadership
Maintain compliance with HIPAA, resident rights, and all federal and state admissions regulations
Participate in interdisciplinary meetings as needed
Requirements
Admissions sales experience required
Background in Skilled Nursing, Hospital, and/or Assisted Living (ALF) admissions or sales
Proven ability to build and maintain strong referral relationships
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and insurance authorization processes
Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
Ability to manage multiple referrals and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
EMR and Microsoft Office proficiency preferred
