Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine patient needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing.
- Facilitate crisis intervention and crisis management to support patients experiencing acute mental health or substance use crises.
- Deliver psychotherapy services addressing addiction, PTSD, mental health disorders, and co-occurring conditions within clinical or community settings.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, patient records, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, case managers, medical professionals, and family members to coordinate care effectively.
- Utilize research-backed techniques such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) and behavior management strategies to optimize patient outcomes while adhering to ICD coding standards (ICD-9/10).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
- Valid licensure or certification as an addiction counselor or mental health professional (e.g., CADC, LCSW, LPC).
- Proven experience in addiction counseling, clinical counseling, or behavioral health settings.
- Strong knowledge of psychotherapy modalities including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and group therapy.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques, trauma-informed care (including PTSD), and home & community care experience.
- Ability to perform patient assessment, diagnostic evaluation, case management, and data collection effectively.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical documentation standards, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and CPT coding is highly desirable.
